Allow me to let Lyla introduce herself to you in her own words:

"Honestly, originally being a hairstylist wasn’t a lifelong goal for me, I actually wanted to be a lawyer since I was about six. I was always arguing with my siblings and trying to help people when I could so everyone just said it worked. That was until I got into high school and found comfort in cosmetology classes.

I loved the teacher and was surprisingly good from cuts to colors along with perms to bridal competitions. My favourite service to offer is color transformations, vivids and fashion colors.

After high school, I enrolled at Delmar College where I completed my hairstyling training. Since I have been apprenticing, I found a great appreciation for updos and bridal hair. I love the creative aspect in this line of work.

Painting has been a helpful outlet for me for years and I found that hairstyling could give me that same creative expression just on a different medium. I’ve put my love for helping people to good use now that I get to be behind the chair making people look and feel beautiful, which is a dream come true.

I got lucky and found a job that doesn’t feel like a job. I am excited to grow and learn at Sharper Image. I know I will find hairstyling rewarding for many years to come. I love the career I chose, and I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me."
