I don't know what the weather is like where you live but June, July and into August here in South Central-Kentucky has been very warm.
Doing chores and any kind of construction on the farm gets difficult when the temps and the humidity start getting in the 90's. But, we deal with it and go out a little earlier and go out after dinner around 7 till dark and get stuff done when it is cooler out.
It is also not easy on the animals (goats, horse, chickens, geese, rabbits, either. We make sure they have plenty of water, wadding pools, fans and shelter to help keep everyone cool as best as possible.
Everyone is doing very well by the way. Hot but well!
Construction on the new Soap Shop is coming along...
As you might already know we did get the 220 drop on for the electric. We got all the electric ran throughout the Shop, Milk Room and Goat's walk-in and everything passed by the inspector!
We got most of the insulation in on all the interior walls and want to get started on the ceiling. It has to get cooler before we get that started. It is hot outside, you can imagine how hot it is on the inside of a metal building, that has been baking all day in the hot summer sun. That with the costs of material right now means it is probably going to be put off till fall when it is cooler.
Now that you are updated on what is going on here at Silly Goat's Farm let's talk about products and what is going on for you in August! |
