It's Kidding Season At Silly Goats Soap Co. 2024!

Spring time is in the air and so is the sound  bleeping baby goats!

We love this time of year and all the new babies that start to fill up the goat shelter.

It is a very busy time of year with late nights, early mornings and sometimes 3 am deliveries.

We keep our breeding bucks separate from the does.  There is no willy nelly breeding going on and then having to guess when kids are coming here at Silly Goat's Farm.

We like to kid around the first of March when it is warmer and less chance of freezing cold weather making it tough on new born babies.
We try and keep track of when Billy Ray or Marlo (our breeding bucks) start breeding with a doe and Sandy does a great job of putting it in her calendar for when the does should be delivering. She can usually get it within a day or two.

Ingestion period for does is 150 days or 5 months. They usually go from 145- 150. but, once you get to know the does they are petty consistent on the amount of time they carry and deliver.

We have set up cameras in the main goat stall and also in the birthing pens we have so, we can watch from our computers or the Camera Apps we have on our phones.

When we see the signs that the does are getting close to birthing. Things like utter bursting full of milk, Back end drops, they start talking and telling us they are going into labor and other signs... we move them into the birthing pens.  This helps make it easier, with no disturbance from all the other goats, and we can be there to help with the delivery.

For example Trinity was the first one up this year and the first baby's nose came out without feet.  The bag was broke and the baby was actually breathing and making noisy, but you usually cannot delivery in this position because the shoulders are to broad and won't go through the birthing canal.  So, sandy had to work fast, push the baby back in (Without suffocating it) find at least 1 hoof and leg, bring forward and help pull the head and let together.  She did get her out but, when she pushed it back in the other 2 kids were lined up in the canal and everyone crowding to get out. My wife is wonderful and keep her cool (practice and confidence over time). She was able to find the right foot for the first baby, get her out quickly and then deliver the other 2 on their own time.
Sandy is Awesome!!!
We are about halfway done kidding.

We have a couple more weeks of kidding to go and we are praying for some sunshine and dry weather.  We do not have snow but we have been getting rained on for weeks now.  It is a muddy sloppy mess everywhere.  Trying to keep the goats shelters dry is very difficult and it is harder for us to work in this slop.

We are Blessed and we know it so, we are not complaining to much, just a little. Win, wink.
Good News!
Bringing Back Some Of The Men's Beard Products...

Back by popular demand!
Beard Balms and the Beard Oils

People have been asking me for awhile now about our men's beard products.  Beards are all the trend again and us men need products to maintain and tame our wild manes.

Keeping the wild, mountain man look down and keeping the Mrs. happy is very important. So, I have brought back the Beard Balms and the Beard Oils.  They are great products I have all of them on my bathroom counter and switch back and forth on fragrances daily.

Experience the benefits of our Silly Goat's Beard Products today. Click Here.

How To Use:
Personally I shower and clean my beard with our goat milk soap (use your favorite fragrance), I then use our Conditioning Bar and condition my beard while I finishing washing my body.

Towel dry my beard leaving a little moisture, I put a dime size drop of oil in the palm of my hand.  Rub my hands together to spread and warm up, then work into my beard.  I then comb it out to finish spreading to oil evenly throughout your beard.  If you use a beard straightener or blow dryer to get the waves and curls out.  I have both and use them when needed.  I have some pretty good waves and a good curl that I have to tame down.

After you have your beard the way you want it I take a dime size dollop of Beard Balm warm and spread in the palm of your hands then massage thoroughly through your beard then comb out and let balm set.  This helps hold down all the wild hairs.
Consistency and Maintenance is the key to a great beard!
