Subject: What I'm doing in December

Tomorrow is the final day to register for the Holiday 2018 class of Successful Group Lessons.

Therefore, this is the last week that you will be able to read these entertaining, informative emails… sorry, but I have to take some time off.

Time off… that is the subject of today’s email.

I want to tell you what I’m up to in December.

Obviously, I’m going to be teaching the Successful Group Lessons class from November 30th - December 14th.

But, in order to make time for that my studio is closing on November 29th for the rest of the year.

In the past (before my group lesson program took off), I hated summers and December.

I was “forced” into time off.

For a private lesson teacher, this can be devastating.

Not so much for a group teacher.

After my group program began, I found myself voluntarily taking more time off each year.

Time off for trips…

Time off for concerts…

Time off for family events…

When you can see double (or more) students in the same amount of time… it doesn’t put as much pressure on your teaching schedule.

So, in December, I will be:

Reading some books I’ve been saving for the break
Traveling to Chicago for our family’s annual trip to the Palmer House Hotel
Seeing the Piano Guys Christmas concert
Spending time with my parents
Traveling with some very close friends for a weekend getaway

It will be good to recharge… before January comes and I start prepping my studio for the Royal Conservatory achievement exams.
