You are receiving this email because you indicated that you wanted to learn more about group lessons from me! I’ll be sending you a unique email each day this week about group lessons. Let’s jump in!

When it comes to group lessons, I often recommend that studio owners use the “George Costanza Principle”:

Do the opposite.

If you’re not familiar with George Costanza, I’ll give you the 20-second summary. George was a character on the world’s most successful sitcom, Seinfeld.

He’s one of TV’s most iconic “down on your luck” characters. Everything he does seems to backfire. He can’t keep a job. He gets into the WORST situations.

Of course, he’s not willing to admit that oftentimes his bad luck is due to the DECISIONS he makes.

One day… he comes up with a brilliant idea. He’s going to turn it all around!

George believes everything he does is wrong. So, his philosophy becomes:

“If every instinct that you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.”

Here’s what’s interesting…

I’ve found this to be very true with studio owners who want to implement group lessons!

For instance, the “instinct” of the studio owner is to build consensus. Get everyone on board! Let’s see if these parents “want” group lessons.

So, they ask around. They run a survey. They advertise group lessons…

At best, they get crickets. No response.

At worst, they get angry calls and emails from parents (this happened to me… it happened to studios that tried converting prior to working with me).

What they needed to do was the opposite! (more on that in a minute)

Another example…

The “instinct” of the studio owner is to look for a curriculum or program that will clearly define how your group should run.

So, they license a program. Or, they purchase a “Group Lessons” method.

But… the problem I found is that it forces all students to march in lockstep. Or, they sacrifice results for the “team feeling” of the group.

What should they do?

The opposite!

On November 23rd, I’m going to open registration for my Successful Group Lessons program.

In each of the sessions, I’m going to show you where the common wisdom is right…

But, I’m also going to show you when you should do the opposite!

So, whether that’s my marketing method that shows you how to avoid those angry calls and emails…

Or, my technique for adapting almost any method in the world to a group format…

Or, how I keep a team spirit while still getting outstanding results...

I’ve got you covered.

Very best,
Daniel

PS> Have a question? Later this month, I’m going to round up all the questions I get and answer them! So… feel free to write in!
