A few months ago, a Florida man was arrested for grand theft.

He was booked into the jail, he posted bond, and was released to await trial.

After he posted his bail… the police observed him breaking into several cars and stealing property from those cars in the jail’s parking lot!

You can read the whole story by Googling “Florida man arrested minutes after leaving jail”

You can’t make this stuff up.

But - it got me to thinking.

What kind of mistakes have I made… over and over again?

Sure, they might not have such dire consequences (like getting arrested and spending a couple of years in jail)...

But what decisions do we studio owners make that steal our freedom and keep us locked in a cycle of failure?

I’ll be quite candid here… even at the risk of revealing a fault.

In 2005, I co-wrote a summer camp group curriculum called The Piano Express … it worked really well.

We helped kids get through their first book in 1 week. We helped hundreds of kids in this camp over the course of several years.

I was a huge believer in the camp, in the method, and in group teaching in general.

Yet… despite this… I was scared to run a group program in my own personal studio.

I was afraid of what parents would think. I was afraid of losing students. I was afraid of “not being good enough to pull it off.”

And so - semester after semester went by…

I didn’t pull the trigger.

I kept making the same mistake over again. Not stretching myself. Not pushing myself. Not having the courage to make a change that I knew I needed to make.

I waited 3 whole years before rolling out a group program in my studio.

And… this is the reason why I created Successful Group Lessons.

I don’t want any studio owner to have to make the same mistakes I did:

  • The fear of starting a program
  • The mistakes I made at the beginning while rolling out the program (many parents rejected it at first because I rolled it out in a very ineffective way)
  • The length of time it took me to get good at teaching the format

If you don’t want to keep making the same mistakes over and over again…

I invite you to join me and the many studio owners who have already joined this week.

Successful Group Lessons is registering right now, but it closes tomorrow (Friday) at 11pm Eastern time.

The class runs in June.
