Subject: ALERT: Fake Windows Defender Scam

We are seeing a rash of recent fake Windows Defender scams.

The scam happens while you are online and multiple windows will appear with messages designed to scare the user into acting quickly.

The message includes a phone number and claims to be for Microsoft support. If you call this number you will be calling the bad guys.

They will ask you for credit card information, banking information, and other payment information that they can use to steal your money. They may also ask you to pay by purchasing gift cards and giving them the redeemable card numbers.

Do not fall for any scary messages that may pop up on your screen.

If this happens, call us immediately and wait for one of our technicians to take a look at it. If it truly is a cyber incident, we will respond appropriately.

Do not call any phone numbers that show in pop up messages. Do not give anyone personal information, payment information, or gift cards. Do not allow anyone to remotely access your computer.

Stay safe,
