Hey Friend,
“How many times will he just leave his clothes right here?”
‘Right here’ being the middle of the living room.
‘He’ being my son.
Yes, my son is 16 years old and he has a problem.
He doesn’t clean up after himself (most of the time)
Can anyone else relate?
Maybe it’s not your son, maybe it’s your daughter.
Maybe it’s not clothes in the living room, maybe it’s a messy room, maybe it’s leaving the blow dryer out on the bathroom countertop (yes, I have a 19 year old daughter too!)
Whatever it is, we all go through it on one, way, shape of form.
And what’s the secret to getting these kids to clean up after themselves?
I think I know what it is.
HABIT.
Yes, it’s not a habit yet.
It hasn’t been done enough times consistently to make it something that isn’t even thought about.
The definition of Habit according to dictionary.com is: an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.
That got me thinking.
Isn’t exercising and eating right sort of like a habit?
I believe it is.
The above definition of habit is exactly how I feel about my workouts and my eating.
It’s involuntary.
I don’t even think about it.
And this has been going on for years on end.
What about you?
Is it a habit for you to eat well and exercise?
If not, it can easily become one.
Just try doing it consistently for 30 days.
It’s really not that difficult.
And once it becomes a habit, it’s pretty hard to break.
