Subject: Friend, is it possible that it all works?

Hey Friend,

I was at a friend's house this weekend and the TV was on in the background and there was a commercial for some kind of fitness program.

I guess it was more like an infomercial.

And in the infomercial there were many before/after pictures, as well as a lot of the clients (actors!) giving testimonials on how great the program was and how much weight they lost.

And then my friend said something that I agreed with 100%.

He said, "If someone is motivated to lose weight, anything they do will probably get them good results".

He hit the nail on the head.

I've been saying the same thing for many, many years.

Think about it for a second; if someone desperately wants to lose weight and they decide they are going to run for 30 minutes every day...and they do that for a long time, they will lose weight.

It's not the best way to do it, but it will work (for a little while).

If someone desperately wants to lose weight and they decide to stop eating after dinner every night....and they do that for a long time, they will lose weight.

This is better than running for 30 minutes every day, but it's still not the best way to lose weight.

If someone desperately wants to lose weight and they decide to count all of their calories, track all of their macros and follow a strict meal plan....and they do that for a long time, they will lose weight.

This is a lot of work and most people won't be able to keep this up, nor would they want to so it's definitely not the best long term strategy to lose weight.

The point here Friend, is that just about everything you read about, if followed consistently, will lead to weight loss.

BUT, and yes there is a big BUT(T), the key to long term weight loss is doing something that you ENJOY, something that is easy and something that fits in with your every day life and will naturally become part of your lifestyle.

I do feel with 100% certainty that my Built To Fast program checks off all of those boxes.

A great example is this weekend. As I mentioned, I was away at a friend's house. It was a beach house.

  I ate foods I normally don't eat.

I ate more food than I normally eat.

I drank more alcohol than I normally do.

  And guess what?

  I loved it!

  I had a great time!

  And guess what again?

I ate normally today and after dinner tonight I started a fast.

I'm going to fast until at least dinner tomorrow, and maybe even longer.

Is this my way of "punishing" myself because of the "awful" weekend I had with all of my eating and drinking?

  No.

  In fact, It's the opposite.

I'm going to reward my body by not eating.

I'm going to give my digestive system a break. I'm going to detox my body. I'm going to let autophagy kick in and clear out all of my dead cells to make room for new, healthy cells.

Fasting is actually a really positive thing to do for your body.

Most people are oblivious to that.

They think of not eating as punishment.

For most people, nothing could be further from the truth.

But rememberFriend, everything will 'work' for weight loss. Especially in the short term of a few months.

But the golden ticket (I watched Willy Wonka last night!) is when you find something that gets you results, that's healthy for you and that seamlessly fits into your life and becomes your lifestyle.

Once you've found that, you'll never pay attention to another weight loss infomercial again.
