Subject: Friend, is it only good for 1st responders?

Hey Friend,

The weekend is over and we're back to the grind. It was my son's birthday last week so we did a little celebrating this weekend. He's officially an adult, 12 years old. LOL, just kidding, He's 18 now and excited to vote in this year's presidential election. Just kidding on that too. He's not really that excited about that. At least he hasn't said anything about it yet.

  Ok, on to today's topic.

  First responders!

First off, I want to say thank you to each and every one of the first responders out there. I have friends and family members who are 1st responders and it's not an easy job.

I recently came across an article that talkedm about why fasting is such a great thing to do for first responders.

Here's the link to the article if you want to check it out:

  FIRST RESPONDERS

Here are the key points from the article that I want to highlight:

Key intermittent fasting benefits for first responders

Integrating intermittent fasting into a first responder’s lifestyle can help in several ways:

  • Weight management: Intermittent fasting aids in regulating weight by improving hormone function to facilitate weight loss.

  • Metabolic health improvement: Regular fasting periods can enhance insulin sensitivity, lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes.

  • Mental clarity and focus: Many practitioners report heightened cognitive performance, crucial for the quick thinking required in law enforcement.

  • Sustained energy levels: Transitioning to using fat as a primary energy source can lead to more stable energy throughout the day.

After reading it I thought, yes, these things are all great and would be very helpful to first responders.

  But what about for everyone?

You may have heard me talk about how great fasting is for weight loss, but one of the things I've been highlighting more is all of the other incredible benefits that fasting creates.

Couldn't we all benefit from those things?

  Of course we can.

But here's the thing that most people don't realize. Just cutting back on your calories doesn't give you any of the above mentioned benefits.

There is a big difference between reducing your calories and fasting.

  HUGE DIFFERENCE!

You only get those benefits mentioned above from not eating for periods of time.

If you cut your calories from, let's say, 2,000 to 1,500, you might lose weight, but you certainly won't have more nergy, more focus, etc.

But if you go 16, 18, 20+ hours without eating, you will most certainly get those benefits.

And guess what, just as everyone that goes through my program says, it's not nearly as difficult as you think it will be. In fact, it's kind of enjoyable!

Ok Friend, enjoy your week and let me know if you have any questions on anything related to fasting or weight loss or exercise, etc.

Kevin
