Subject: Friend, does the way you eat affect your mood, sleep and your eating behavior?

Hey Friend,

I had my weekly check in with one of my clients the other day and she mentioned something that I always love to hear.

She noticed she's not really tempted by "bad" foods that she would normally be tempted by any more (and we've only been working together for about 3 weeks now).

I know many people don't realize this, and you might be one of them Friend, but there are big differences between fasting and restricting your calories.

I've talked about that many times before and this is another example of that.

When you restrict your calories (and usually calorie counting comes along with that) you are still told to eat food all throughout the day. So what happens is you start to try and figure out if you can have that little snack during the day without it messing up your calorie total.

"Can I fit that into my calorie allotment for the day"?

"If I have a few potato chips now, I'll just reduce my calories a little bit at dinner and I'll be ok".

First off, who wants to live like that? I certainly don't and I can't imagine you want to either. Am I right?

But one thing that also happens when you eat and live this way is that your body gets used to eating all throughout the day. So you come to expect food every few hours and you start craving it more.

And what happens when you eat all day long, otherwise known as grazing?

You eventually will have a few slip ups and eat some "bad" foods here and there.

A study published in Frontiers Nutriton magazine this January spoke on how a fasting diet showed promise in enhancing mood, sleep and eating behaviors.

Enhancing mood and sleep are benefits that many people that have gone through my program have talked about. And those are great.

But it's the part about enhancing eating behaviors that is so life changing.

Just like I mentioned earlier about one of my current client's who no longer is craving "bad" foods.

The kicker about that whole revelation is that I never told her to stop eating "bad" foods! She came to that decision and feeling on her own.

  And why?

Because that's what fasting does for you.

That's what this study showed too.

The act of fasting, in and of itself, will change your eating behaviors and what you used to be "addicted" to doesn't seem all that appealing anymore.

  Imagine that?

Not eating for certain stretches of time can change your body and your mind's entire outlook on food (Side note: I had a person who fasted for multiple days and wanted nothing more than cottage cheese and blueberries when he broke his fast!).

As many of my client's have said, the liberating effect that fasting has had on them is priceless.

And let's not forget the incredible weight loss that comes with it.

But again, it's all of the other things that make fasting so great.

Imagine a method of weight loss so powerful, that the actual weight loss itself takes a back seat to the many other incredible benefits???

  Sign me up!

But just like many other things, some people are still hesitant to give fasting a try.

I'm not sure why, but my guess is that they are so worried/nervous/scared to go a little while without food.

A small part of me understands that.

But for someone who has been fasting for as long as I have and has had over 700 people go through my program...it does seem a little silly to me.

Silly because at the end of the day, it's just food. And fasting doesn't mean you'll never eat again. You're just taking a little break.

Silly also because of the unbelievable health benefits that we're learning about every day that we get from fasting.

Why would you not want that for yourself?

As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water...but you can't make it drink.

I'm doing my best to lead you there Friend.

I'm supplying you with all of the info on fasting, how and why it's so great, how it's so easy to do, the many benefits you'll get, etc.

I can't force you to do it though.

  That's on you.

But I'll keep sharing all of the benefits with you, I'll keep sharing the studies that come out with you and I'll keep sharing my client's testimonials with you.

If and when you're ready to give it a try, just say the word.

P.S. Another one of my clients, Kathleen, had tried losing weight before, but always wound up miserable! Look at what she had to say about fasting and my Built To Fast program:
“I am loving this. I haven’t been able to lose weight like this in years and not be miserable. I’m down 15lbs but I’m also fitting in jeans and clothes that I haven’t worn in years and I can’t tell you how many times in the last couple of weeks I’ve been told how skinny I look. I’m over the moon. I have no plans on stopping after 8 weeks. I can’t thank you enough!”
