Where Are You Starting From (Nutrition Edition)?
Let's cut right to the chase...how is your eating? If you're like most people, your answer is probably somewhere between not great and terrible! I know it's harsh, but it's probably true. If you're one of the few Americans who has a really healthy, solid eating plan, then you don't need to read this. But if you are like most people, what you are about to read can have a big impact on your health and whether or not you're going to drop a few pounds.
First things first, you need to write down what your typical day of eating and drinking is. Write down what time each meal or snack is and exactly what you are eating and drinking. I'd suggest doing that for 2 or 3 days. Chances are it's pretty much the same thing each day. Nontheless, put pen to paper and write it down.
Now, after you've done that, let's take a look at it. I want you to circle all of the things that are not "healthy". I mean things like chips, sweets, sugar in your coffee, etc. After that, I want you to write down foods that you could replace those "unhealthy" foods with. So that might be things like fruit, protein shake, handful of nuts, bite size veggies like baby carrots, cut up celery, cherry tomatoes, etc.
Now, I want you to write up a new eating plan for yourself. Keep all of the healthy foods in your new eating plan but take out all of the unhealthy food and replace them with the new healthier foods.
That's it! It's not rocket science by any means. But neither is weight loss. As I've said many times before, knowing what to do to lose weight is not some secret that only scientists with Phd's in BioMolecular nutrition know about. I think 99% of the population knows what they need to do. They know that eating fruits and vegetables instead of chips and cookies is a sure fire way to lose weight. So then why don't they do it? I think it comes down to 2 reasons. They don't want to lose weight badly enough to make changes.
And the second reason is they don't have a plan and they just wing it every day. Whatever comes along to eat, they eat it. It's accessible, they don't have to think about it and I'll start eating better tomorrow is their thought process.
Well, this is how you can get started on your plan. It's very simple and there's not a lot of "flash" to it. And unfortunately, that's why a lot of people won't do it.
But remember, weight loss is simple.......as long as you have a plan.
I am running a 30 Day 'New Year / New You' Weight Loss Challenge that will cover all of this in much greater detail. The challenge starts January 2nd, but I'm opening up the registration on next Friday (Black Friday) and there's going to be a great bonus if you sign up that day. You can reserve a spot by emailing me at: Kevin@RedesignMyBody.com and telling me you want in. I'm only taking on 30 people for that Challenge.
