  And although there are lots of weight loss “rules” that you would benefit from, I feel the following 5 are very important.

  The following rules are in no particular order as each one is just as important as the other.


So let’s take a look:


1. Set a schedule of when you’ll eat and stick with it. This one I’ve talked about before many times, but it bears repeating. From my own personal eating plan, my meals get eaten at 12:00 am, 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm (and sometimes never when I'm on F.A.T. :). There is no eating in between those meals for 2 reasons. The first one being that I’m not hungry (this is the biggest reason–why eat if I’m not hungry?), the second one being that it’s not part of my plan. I have a plan and I stick to it. Very simple and very effective.


2. Eat the same thing (most of the time)—this will not only save you a ton of time but also many calories! You probably have a pretty good idea of what you are going to be eating each day, so why not keep it that way. This way you’re not scrounging around, looking for something to eat, which more times than not will result in 'not so great' choices.


3. Stop eating before you feel full. Your brain is slow in receiving the full signal from your tummy—so give it a chance to catch up! You don’t need to, nor should you, feel full when you are done with your meal. You may have heard me say this before, you should feel satisified. It’s ok to leave the table without feeling “full”. Try it during your next meal.


4. Eat fruits and vegetables first, then meats and lastly your starches. This one os almost never done. And what a mistake! What a difference in your physique you would have if you just followed this one rule. I want you to try. Seriously. Starting with dinner tonight, once you sit down to have your meal, eat your veggies first and then go for the protein and end with your rice or potato.


5. Drink water instead of soda. Your body isn’t able to register all of the calories in liquid, so hundreds of calories add up without making you feel full. This one is huge. And it might even be better saying, JUST DRINK WATER. I’ve written a whole blog post as to why water is so great for you, including how it helps you lose weight. Don’t fight it any longer, just accept how great water is for you and that you probably should be drinking more of it!
