Hey Friend,
I have to be honest, I'm a little sad.
Yes, even an energetic, optimistic, 'glass half full guy' like me gets sad sometimes.
Why am I sad you might be wondering?
Well, I got some replies after my email the other day and what I heard from some people made me sad. It seems like some of thepeople want help, but I think it might be a mental block that's holding them back.
But I get it.
The day I realized that counting calories and tracking macros was keeping me stuck, I wasn’t sure if I could change.
It was me, it was a little self doubt, it was the confusion in my own head, etc.
But most importantly, it was the unknown.
Despite YEARS of experience and actually doing it with clients, I was still unsure about this whole concept of fasting.
Until very recently.
And that’s what I think I'm seeing in some of these email responses that I've gotten so far.
People unsure of the process and why they couldn't be successful because of this, that or whatever reason they come up with in their mind.
I used to think those were just excuses. But it’s dawned on me that they are not.
They are 100% legit reasons from people who don’t think they have what it takes to be successful with losing weight. Especially with something like fasting.
Despite some of these people solving other painful problems for themselves (work, marriage, raising children, etc., despite other people encouraging them along their journey, etc.
They don’t believe in themselves to do what it takes to finally lose weight and feel good in their own skin.
My first reaction to these people emailing me back was: "They are never going to get it done".
Because in the world of weight loss, if you are reluctant to believe and adapt then it's hard to get sustainable results.
But I realized that many of my clients had felt the same way before they came on board and invested in themselves…
Like Janice.
Look at what she had to say and tell me if you can relate to what she says here.
“Wow! 8 weeks down 17.3lbs!! With any new routine, there are some days that were easier than others but overall this is a plan I can stick to.
Especially since I was able to eat all my favorite foods and be social with a few drinks.
In addition to the 17.3 pound weight loss in the short 8 weeks I noticed some changes. Less inflammation. Less bloating. Better recovery from workouts. Less fatigue. Even less PMS (sorry).
I don’t worry about what I eat anymore. Food no longer controls me. And I don’t feel guilty having some of the sweet tooth foods I love. And I’m thankful I can still have my coffee.
I also hit a few unexpected goals. Everything in my closet fits. Even some things are too big now! I got into my size 4 pants that have not fit in 5 years, passed my wedding weight and presently at my High School weight (I graduated high school over 30 years ago!).
I will continue until I hit my main goal (that’s only 7 pounds away) which I haven’t seen in 10 years. I will maintain it from there. And all the people who say it’s harder to lose weight when you get older because your metabolism slows down, well seems most people in this group are around my age (48) and this was the easiest and fastest it’s come off in the last five years and I’ve tried everything else from weight watchers to whole 30 to shakes to measuring food and counting calories etc. THANK YOU KEVIN for giving me the tools I’ve needed all these years!”
