US Embassy Israel to issue updated security / travel guidance flwg incr of rocket/mortar fire from Gaza into nearby cities. Caution urged if visiting region.

More than 100 missiles have been fired into Israel in last 24 hours... the most since 2014.

Rocket fire has damaged a power station. Power out through most of Gaza.

Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have issued a statement claiming joint responsibility for the rocket / mortar attacks. 

Israeli gov warning residents in southern Israel to stay near shelters.
