Event: In commemoration of the anniversaries of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as Japan’s surrender in World War II, demonstrations are expected to take place in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy and throughout Japan on August 6, August 9, and August 15, 2024.


Actions to take:


  • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations.

  • Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.

  • Monitor local media for updates.

  • Keep a low profile.
