Security Alert – U.S. Embassy Paris, France October 29, 2020 Event:
Media report and the French government confirms knife attacks at Notre Dame Cathedral in Nice and against police in Avignon. In addition, a person with a knife attacked guards at a French Consulate in Saudi Arabia. While there has been no evidence these attacks are coordinated, the Embassy would like to take this opportunity to remind the U.S. citizen community throughout France to be vigilant and practice sound personal security measures while traveling outside your home. Actions to Take:- Have a plan for possible emergency situations and review your plan with your family.

- Monitor local media for updates
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Notify friends and family of your safety
