Over the weekend, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed reports of the Russian mercenary group’s movements near the vulnerable Suwałki Gap in Grodno, near the Polish border in NW Belarus.
“Now the situation is becoming even more dangerous,” Morawiecki said at a press conference. “This is certainly a step towards a further hybrid attack on Polish territory.”
UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield's came late this afternoon during an online gathering with the media.
"We have seen their hostile efforts on the African continent, so we are certainly concerned about the activities of this group on behalf of the Russian authorities, because they do not act independently of the Russian authorities. This is a threat to all of us and we must ensure that our message is clear: that any attack by the Wagner Group will be considered an attack by the Russian authorities."
