Supplemental Info:
A gunman on a motorcycle opened fire late Tuesday at two locations in Bnei Brak, an ultra-Orthodox city just east of Tel Aviv, killing at least four people and injuring others.
This is the third terror attack within Israel in a one week period. - Last week, an Arab citizen of Israel killed four in a stabbing and car ramming attack in the southern city of Beersheba, before being shot dead by a passerby.
- On Sunday, an Arab assailant shot and killed two police officers in Hadera, located ~30 miles north of Tel Aviv. The attacker was shot and killed by other officers. The Islamic State formally claimed responsibility for this attack.
This string of attacks by Arab assailants come just days before the start of the historically volatile Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In a rare convergence of dates, this year's Ramadan observance takes place in the same month as Passover and Easter, a correlation almost certain to further raise tensions.
For some perspective, during Ramadan 2021, there were 222 recorded terror attacks around the world resulting in 1103 deaths.
Vigilance is urged.
