Shooting Suspect Identity:   Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty.

On Friday December 22nd the suspect opened fire from a car on a Capitol Police vehicle in front of the capital complex. That officer was not hit. Capitol, Harrisburg and State Police pursued the suspect into the City where a gunfight ensued, resulting in the injury of one trooper and the suspect's death.

The suspect had a "device" attached to his body which the bomb squad had to defuse.

Police have not released any information on the nature of the device.

The FBI is involved in the investigation.
