The video was released earlier today by Al-Malahem Media, the media arm of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (also known as AQAP and Al Qaeda in Yemen) via encrypted social media platforms such a Telegram.
Speakers on the video admonish viewers on the careless use of electronic communications, attributes the deaths of numerous jihadists to the use of cell phones, ends with letter banning use of mobile devices and the Internet for communications regarding operations.
Subscribers are reminded that the USGOV rates al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula as one the most active and dangerous groups plotting against America and other western nations. The group publicly claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing of Northwest Airlines Flight 253 in December 2009, the October 2010 attempts to mail bombs loaded in printer cartridges via UPS and FedEx to Jewish community centers in Chicago, and continues to target western aviation interests.
