The Islamic State aligned propaganda group Muharir al-Ansar is circulating a new poster on social media threatening more attacks in France.
The prominent French statement in the graphic below says the following:
"It's only the beginning of terror"
The individual shown is Arnaud Beltrame, a lieutenant colonel in the French Gendarmerie nationale (one of two French national police forces) who was killed by a French citizen of Moroccan descent during a March 23, 2018 terrorist attack in the towns of Carcassonne and Trèbes in southern France.
In this incident, Beltrame voluntarily swapped places with a hostage. After a multiple-hour stand-off with police, he was shot and fatally stabbed by the attacker.
In total, 5 were killed and 15 wounded in the attack
The Islamic State's Amaq News Agency issued a statement claiming responsibility, calling the attacker a "soldier of the Islamic State."
