In this incident, the suspect, identified as Karim L., age 36, stabbed two victims on a tram, while two more were attacked in the street. Multiple reports indicate the suspect initially asked each victim for their nationality, "stabbing people in accord with their answers."
When police arrived, the attacker dropped the knife, then pulled a handgun and began shooting at the officers who returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect.
