Strasbourg Attack Update: - French authorities state Strasbourg suspect Cherif Chekatt was shouting "Allahu Akbar" during the attack.
- Authorities believe the suspect fled to Germany approx. 3 kilometers away following the attack.

- The Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (Bundeskriminalamt - the country's lead federal investigative police agency) says the Strasbourg suspect was deported to France last year after serving a prison sentence for theft and was known to French authorities as a radical Islamist.
New US Embassy Alert
Police operations to locate the subject responsible for the December 11, 2018 attack in Strasbourg continue. Movement within some areas of the city may remain restricted. As a result of this attack, France has raised its terror alert level, sending additional security personnel to Strasbourg and enforcing border controls. Increased security at public holiday events and venues, with ID checks and personal/bag searches, should be expected.
