Supplemental Info:
30+ lbs of bomb making material were recovered from an apartment in the the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx. Materials recovered included 20 lbs iron oxide, 5 lbs aluminum powder, 5 lbs potassium nitrate, 2 lbs sugar, and a bag of metal spheres.
A notebook recovered at the apartment also included the following hand-written statements:
"When you find out I threw away all evidence (of operation code name) 'Flash' I could find in your room, I hope this doesn't turn into a scene from 'Goodfellas'"
"We are twin Toros strike us now, we will return with nano thermite"
Within a backpack, investigators found an index card with the following statement written on it:
"Under the full moon the small ones will know terror"
One of the two suspects was arrested on Jan. 31 for on charges of sex with a minor. Related to this charge, another another entry in the notebook reads as follows:
"If you're registered as a sex offender, things will be difficult. But I am here 100% living, buying weapons. Whatever we need."
