Moments ago, N. Korean TV carried an announcement that the country had carried out a successful launch of an ICBM. Japan's Ministry of Defense reports the missile achieved an apogee of 2,500+ km (~1500 miles) and traveled an over-water distance of 934 km. This was an high shot intended to bring the missile down in the Sea of Japan and clearly indicates a significant advance is capabilities.
