Supplemental Info:
Islamic State social media channels on Telegram, Twitter and others are filled with commentary and mocking of the U.S. military today following the release of a propaganda video featuring helmet camera footage from one of four U.S. soldiers killed in the West African nation of Niger in October, 2017.
The video is backed by a nasheed (acappella chant) with additional sound effects, including screams, added.
Numerous new threats of attacks are also in wide circulation. An example of the threat messages include:
"O Crusaders, Allah has enabled us to pluck your heads in Niger. Soon we will do the same in the streets of New York and London."
Out of respect for the fallen soldiers, AlertsUSA will not republish the full video which is quite violent.
The banner advertising the video is below (click for larger version).
The Arabic text reads as follows:
(Far Left)
US and Niger soldiers killed in ambush near Mali's border.
(Far Right, Top to Bottom)
An ambush from the soldiers of Khilafah on the Soldiers from
US Army
Near the artificial borders between Niger and Mali. |
