Location: Countrywide


Event: Due to the nationwide electrical outage, the Government of Chile announced a curfew from 10 pm tonight to 6 am tomorrow, February 26. The duration of the outage is unknown. The U.S. Embassy advises all U.S. citizens to monitor the local news and media, including SENAPRED’s website, for the latest information regarding the outages.


U.S. citizens are advised to be alert to your surroundings and follow the instructions of local authorities.

  • Monitor local media for updates.

  • Notify friends and family of your safety.

  • Be aware of your surroundings.

  • Review your personal security plans.

  • Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
