9 women and children, all family members, all with dual U.S.-Mexican citizenship, were attacked while traveling in 3 vehicles between the Mexican states of Sonora and Chihuahua near the US-Mexico border.
A formal statement on the attack is forthcoming from the U.S. State Department./ U.S. Embassy Mexico City.
