A Joint Threat Assessment issued by FBI / DHS / USSS / Milwaukee PD / SE WI Threat Analysis Center indicates the 2020 DNC and associated events will be attractive targets for criminals and violent extremists, as there will be considerable media attention focused on Milwaukee and the event itself.

Though taking place with a reduced footprint due to COVID-19, the report assess that the probable presence of domestic violent extremists (DVEs), including anarchist extremists, militia extremists, environmental extremists, and racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists (RMVEs) will likely enhance the threat of violence and criminal activity at the 2020 DNC.
