Following up on past newsletters about the looming housing crisis in the US, here's a great summary from Barron's:

"As a nation, we’ve gone from overhoused to underhoused. When a population of our size grows by 2.5 million to three million people a year, new housing production would normally be 1.5 million units a year. For nearly six years, it’s closer to 850,000. A huge gap has been created. There is opportunity."

The gap is large now, and getting large with each passing month. Real estate is one of the few asset classes with solid fundamentals behind it. This is Economics 101, with supply lagging demand. Unlike many industries, supply of housing can't be ramped up quickly.

As the analyst quoted in Barron's stated, or perhaps understated: there is opportunity.

Slow week given the holiday, just 4 closings, and $6.6 million in total sales.
