As a professional photo archivist, I know that procrastination is the kryptonite, the enemy of preserving your family's photo history, including slides and home movies.

Out of the three "P's" - people, pets, and photographs - when faced with a hurricane threatening your home and you have seconds to escape, the least urgent item to save is your photo albums, assuming that they have all been digitized.
