Wildfire Recovery: How to Recover Your Lost Photos

The horrific wildfires left devastating losses in their wake—including a lifetime of photo memories. At ScanMyPhotos, we’re working to help recover your cherished photographs.

We've Never Seen Anything Like This Before

Ordinarily, So California accounts for less than 20% of our photo scanning orders. Since the wildfires, that number has skyrocketed to 92% as families rush to safeguard their photo history.

Digitize Every Printed Photo Now: Your photo history is at risk. Please don’t leave them vulnerable to fire, water, or time.

Backup Your Scanned Photos Online: Even digitized photos need protection. Leading tech journalist Jefferson Graham shares these top backup methods:

  • Amazon Photos: Unlimited photo storage for Prime members.

  • Microsoft OneDrive: Affordable, secure storage at $70/year for 1TB.

  • Google Photos: Smart organization, $9.99/month for 2TB.

  • Apple iCloud: $9.99/month for 2TB, ideal for iPhone users.

A Personal Message

Last week, I was at CES, the giant tech convention in Las Vegas, surrounded by the latest tech innovations, when I received the devastating news that a relative’s home had been destroyed in the wildfires. I had to leave the convention early, unable to focus on anything but the heartbreak of what had happened. Sadly, thousands share this personal loss as these fires devastate communities. It’s a stark reminder of how quickly our lives can change and how precious the memories we preserve genuinely are.

Here's a photo of Mitch, our Chief Photo Archivist and CEO, upon arrival at CES before the Southern California wildfires struck--a happier moment.
