Bond Market Sentinel ...
This is The Saturday Economist Bond Market Sentinel, we track the performance of ten year gilts and bonds in the US and the UK. US 10 year gilts yields closed at 0.66 down from 0.72 last week. US yields slipped to 1.35 from 1.46. So much for fears of inflation. In the TSE this week we talked of life on Planet ZIRP. Central Bankers are struggling to raise rates and to begin tapering, asset prices are pushed higher in the momentum trade. TINA, FOMO, HODL and BTD ... the explanation.
If bond markets could talk, they would probably say "Can someone please explain what's going on"
Exchange Rate Updates ... Sterling closed level $1.38 ...
This is The Saturday Economist Exchange Rate Tracker. We monitor five pairs with scenario outlook to 2022 Q1. Markets were steady in the week with Sterling unchanged against the Euro and the Dollar, Dollar Yen showing greatest volatility.

Crypto Wallet... down 5.7% in the week ...
This is The Saturday Economist Crypto Wallet. The Wallet was down 5.7% this week. All five tokens moved lower.. Dogecoin once again the worst performer. Bitcoin was down 2% but held the important 34,000 level. Ethereum and Ripple were down 6%. What next for Bitcoin is it $10,000 or $100,000? The charts have it! Not really ... The Saturday Economist Crypto Wallet 
Metal Markets ... up 1.6% in the week ...
Our metals hopper was up 1.6% on the week. Copper up 2%, Aluminium down 1%. Lead the strongest performer up 3.54% along with Nickel 2.2% and Zinc 1.4%.

Empires of the Cloud Fund ... Up 1.7% in the week ...
Our Empires of the Cloud Fund was up 1.7% this week. Amazon up 6%, Facebook down 1%. $10,000 invested in our Empires of the Cloud Fund in April 2016 would be worth  $40,600 dollars today. What will 2021 have in store? Amazon is up 15% since the start of the year, with a further 15% move into 2022 the call ...

Together our Empires of the Cloud have a market cap of over $9 trillion dollars. FB slipped out of the $ trillion Dollar club last week. Which companies will be next to make the move? Tesla, Alibaba, Nvidia, TSMC and Visa are on the list of applicants. We will be taking a close look at our favourites in the weeks ahead.
