The 29th of September is the International Awareness Day on Food Loss and Waste, an opportunity to draw the attention to innovations to reduce food waste, aiming to restore and rebuild more sustainable and resilient food systems. 

Food loss and food waste undermine the sustainability of our food systems: when food is lost or wasted, all the resources that were used to produce it - including water, land, energy and labor - are decreased. 

This impact the environment, and food loss and waste can also negatively impact food security and food availability and contribute to increasing the cost. 

The introduction of technologies, innovative solutions, new ways of working and good practices to manage food quality and reduce food loss and waste are essential to change.
