Dear Friend,
In Italy there are 300 cheeses recognized as having protected origin, 52 of which are protected at European level. But if we were to count them all, we would arrive at over 1,300!
The production of our dairy sector last year exceeded the total value of 10 billion euros.
The two most famous grana cheeses in the world remain firmly at the top of the ranking, Grana Padano, with about 20,000 tons, and Parmigiano Reggiano, with over 145,000 tons, followed by Gorgonzola.
But if we analyzed the overall production, in the first place we will find Mozzarella.
Last very positive note, 40% of the production of Italian cheeses goes abroad, to conquer the world!
