Back again, Festival Weekend out the way and it’s full steam ahead with events all the way through to the new year!
We will bring you weekly updates on both the D&P gigs and the goings on at the Village Hall!

This week sees the triumphant return of….
D.H.LAWRENCE & THE SKIFFLE GROUP (back again in December too!!)
More of a collective of skifflers than a band. They're a travelling 'Vaudeville Show' from Lawrence County. Expect fiddles, banjos, raggedy choruses and washboard action.
.... Mean and moody, they can break your heart (Bluebird, When I Fly) or skiffle you into submission with their high octane drinking & songs (White Jesus, Sad Eyed Latinos) . . . . It's a kind of "UpNoirthicana" for the soul . . . Psycho-skiiffle through to lo-fi Country/Folk . . . Sip some moonshine liquour and enjoy!
. . . Misk Hills & Minin Bill are joined by The Reverend Daniel Wright, Stevie Leigh-Goodison, Wailin Nick Morland and a host of other random troubadours n' guests! Here's hoping you like them and what they have got to say . . . as Pete Seeger once said "There is hope for the World" (Power of Song) . . . All of the music is recorded on the back porch (OK... occasionally in the kitchen) . . .

The Nylon Hearts are a female close harmony trio based in the North West of England.
Born out of a passion for all things vintage, they capture the glitz and glamour of a bygone era, captivating audiences with their sultry sounds and show-stopping outfits; they evoke sounds reminiscent of those iconic sweethearts from the past including artists such as The Andrews Sisters, Marilyn Monroe and Doris Day – right through to the present day. They create their own unique, vintage-inspired twists on modern hits too.
Their wide musical repertoire and performance experience ensures that they can create an engaging and highly entertaining show suitable for private parties or corporate events alike. Everything can be tailored to suit your personal requirements, from the specific genre of music right through to the style of performance they deliver.
The Nylon Hearts will definitely transport you back to a time where diamonds really were a girl’s best friend!

A two year lay off from the Halloween spectaculars, we are happy to announce we are back this Halloween and we have invited back Richard Felix from “Britain’s most haunted” to be our guest speaker for the evening and the statutory two course meal is also in the cauldron waiting to be served!

NEW YEARS EVE
As you are probably aware we have finally after three years of haggling managed to secure the services of THE FOAMING PINTS to take us into 2019!. We have kept ticket prices down to the lowest we can get them remaining at £15.00 in advance as in previous years. We will put tickets on sale around September time, on a first come first served basis, available from the pub and the village shop! |
