It’s official…………………………
CAMRA PUB OF THE YEAR 2017/18!!!!!!!!!
Just received these good tidings this last weekend and we are well chuffed! It shows that, when we arrived here four and a half years ago we dared to be different (actually we just continued to do what we did at our previous pub), and that has paid off!
Since the break away branch of Uttoxeter Camra was formed a couple of years or so back, we achieved pub of the year in it’s first year and here we are again in year three, we couldn’t be more pleased!
Since we have moved into the area the landscape has changed considerably and the major brewers no longer call all the shots and more pubs are stocking more interesting independent brewery products in the area, and we now even have our own local brewery Uttoxeter Brewing Company (whose ales are excellent by the way)and the first micro pub, which means we will have to really up our game if we want any more titles as the competition gets tougher! This is good for the consumer and the area in general!!
There is to be a presentation around 12 noon this coming Saturday, if you are in the area pop in! We are also the starting point at the same time for Potteries Camra’s pub crawl around pubs of note in the area, so should be a lively session and a good time to display Uttoxeter Brewing Co’s fine beers which will feature on the pumps!!

| This week it’s a break from the norm when we invite newcomers guitar trio FLINT MORE AND BYRNE to entertain us. there isn’t much to go on in terms of a biog - the Facebook link below will give you a few ideas as to what they sound like, but they are of good stock and feel they will be an asset to the Music club going forward.
Fun begins around 5.30pm this coming Sunday!
