Hi there,
Firstly thank you for the kind words about Floyd our beloved pub dog who passed away New Years Eve, they have been of much comfort to us and we hope he’s creating as much mischief on the other side!
Moving on……….
Busy Year ahead
First up...
MARCHINGTON MUSIC CLUB
Local boy done good Richard Castle takes time out from his other band activities to show off some of his own material assisted by Dave Blant (vice bishops/zydeco hotrods), both musicians highly regarded and respected around these parts so expect a good turn out from locals and friends so get in early, this Sunday 8th Jan from 5.30pm.
Incidentally the club got another mention in the Derby Evening Telegraph courtesy of L’il Jim who went on to place us in the top 5 places to play in the region! Thanks for that!

Now see on the right a great photo of THUNDEROUS JONES who join us on Sunday Jan 15th, I have yet to hear them (although they have been around for sometime) but I just had to book them on the strength of the attached photo, it doesn’t get anymore rock n roll and Rolling Stones-esque than this!!!!!!!!!
Reminder this event marks 4 years of the Sunday club and the following week 22nd it’s Becky & Paul’s joint birthday bash featuring the wonderful HILLBILLY JUKEBOX (more about them next week)

About fifty percent of the tickets went before Christmas, expect panic buying in the next five weeks up to the gig.
Do not leave it to the last minute as this WILL sell out!

NEW YEAR PROMOTIONS
Here are a few things kicking off over the next three months, of particular interest for beer drinkers is an unofficial launch night for the now trading UTTOXETER BREWING COMPANY, we’ve had a Gin now we have the beer!!!! Come taste before you buy, starts at the D&P from 8pm !

- Fri 27th Jan: uttoxeter brewing co night
- Sat 11th Feb: blondied- village hall
- Thurs Feb 23rd: cheese & wine night 35 places

Just around the corner, albeit it the official night is mid week I imagine some will plummet for Saturday 11th???
As most tables are 2’s, we suggest you get in early before the tables are snapped up (and if you are early enough you can take your beloved to the BLONDIED gig at the Village Hall afterwards!!!)
