| MARCHINGTON MELEE 11 BEER & MUSIC FESTIVAL
Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March
I feel sure you are aware but here’s a subtle reminder, MELEE 11 looms, and it’s the only festival we are doing this year so let’s make it a good one!
I can say the line up is strong this festival and ALL evening events are worth a look!
Most of you know the HERRON BROTHERS from the Sunday sessions, great as they are trying to get an updated photo and a biog is always a nightmare, however we did get a text describing themselves as, and I quote, “Harmony laden versions of classic songs from 60’s to the present, with a smattering of cheeky northern wit”, that about sums it up, and a picture can be gleaned from their Facebook page (Sunday evening from 5.30pm)

MARCHINGTON MUSIC CLUB (SUNDAYS FROM 5.30PM)
Last Sunday was a bit sparse on numbers, the Christmas doldrums clearly still in play, however looking forward, newcomers this week in the shape of duo WE STEAL FLYERS who are well respected around the pubs and festival circuits.
They have a very informative website www.westealflyers.co.uk , you can find a biog, photos and their tour dates there and you can see why it’s worth turning up at 5.30 this Sunday.
VILLAGE HALL GIGS
While the Custodians of the Village Hall seem to continue to put even more obstacles in our way, this year’s gigs will continue to take place but certainly they need taking to task and winter wise the issue with the Parish Council.
It always amazes me that powers that be going with the opposite to what involves common sense, they whinge they aren’t getting the through put of people booking the hall and in the same breath double the price of it’s hire - great move!
