Hi there!!
So much happening in the coming weeks, take a look at this lot...
|
| MARCHINGTON MUSIC CLUB (SUNDAYS FROM 5.30PM)
This week, old faves L’il Rooster return after a few months away from the music club, and what a nice way to kick us into 2018!
Expect the usual eclectic mix of cajun, folk and roots, the fun as always begins at around 5.30 and it’s free!!
And incidentally this gig will be a landmark on the grounds that the music club will have been running 5 years!!
And talking of birthdays…………..

BIRTHDAY BASH
Sunday 28th will be the usual landlord’s birthday bash, so expect the odd sandwich and hot item… But not just that - we figured it ought to be a gig that’s upbeat and something you want to boogie to, so we invited back…………………
THE SOUL FUNK JUNKIES!
If you want a quiet afternoon with your feet up, then these aren’t for you, quite the opposite - if you want to boogie and foot tap to some soul and club classics, then come on down.
If you missed them last time, I feel sure those who attended will tell you how great these guys were and a breath of fresh air to our Sunday sessions!!
Come early for a seat or a good standing place view!! You have been informed!

MARCHINGTON MELEE 11 BEER & MUSIC FESTIVAL
Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March
Possibly the only beer festival we will be doing in 2018, so it’s got to be a good one so we have pulled out all the stops!!
Headlining this year's festival are favourites THE SWAN VESTA SOCIAL CLUB, just the tonic after the post Christmas doldrums with their infectious take on Cuba’s favourite sons THE BUENO VISTA SOCIAL CLUB!
Expect to be jumping around and having a boogie to this lot I assure you!
This is how they describe themselves-
The 9 piece Swan Vesta Social Club blend anglo-latin percussion and melodic patterns to create a unique party sound. They mix Cuban folk songs, classic pop songs and originals in a vibrant, exciting way. The line-up features horns, flute and guitars, with up to 4 percussionists and the live show is irresistible. Highly entertaining, funny, serious, folky, rocky, funky, punky, their show embraces all ages and tastes. They have performed across the UK at events including The Acoustic Festival of Britain, The Exmoor Festival, Rhythms of The World, Harlequin Fayre, Leamington Peace Festival, Rickmansworth Canal Festival, Lechlade and Wilkestock . Artists they have worked with include: Kim Wilde, Dodgy, Midge Ure, Fairport Convention and the Proclaimers.
Over the coming week expect more blogs, photos and info on the participating bands!
We will be selling beakers on this weekend again with the proceeds this year going to the village festival fund!!

VALENTINE'S DAY
You know the night where star crossed lovers gaze longingly at each other on tables of two which would normally seat four limiting the amount of tables we have to offer so it is advisable to book sooner than later 01283-820394 (this year it’s a Wednesday by the way so we're more than likely going to suspend steak night?)
NEW MENU
I know we’ve harped on about it and there have been the usual delays but we wanted to get Christmas out of the way and the new kitchen extension, so bear with us, next week or so HONEST!!
Meantime we will be adding a few of the new dishes to the specials menus over coming weeks to grade the feedback!
