Video really works. Getting started is a lot easier than you imagine. Here are some tips from my friend, Adam Payne, who runs a specialist video program called Video Marketing Insider.
 
1. Get used to your own voice.
 
We all sound different on audio than how we 'think' we sound.
 
And most of us 'hate' our own voice.
 
So get used to hearing yourself.
 
Record yourself using a free tool like audacity (works on all devices)
 
Read a blog post aloud then play it back.
 
Over time, you'll get used to hearing your own voice and it'll not sound so bad.
 
2. Practice without sharing.
 
Make videos but do not share them.
 
Watch them back and use whatever you can to make the next one better.
 
Look at the lighting (use natural light)
 
Make the backdrop less messy (put the underwear away next time).
 
Perfect eye contact with the camera.
 
3. Tell yourself over and over that nothing bad can happen.
 
If you get a troll or negative comment either:
 
+ Delete, block and forget it
 
+ Smile knowing that they are inadvertently helping you with ranking through engagement.
 
No one is going to get hurt.
 
And even after all . this, you can still make videos using tools like Content Samurai or InVideo and not have to appear on camera.
