I did promise to write about Focus Area #3 from The Iceberg Effect.
Focus Area #3: Follow Up
The old cliché says the money is in the list. Well that is as old as the hills are blue. Are they?
Truth is the money is only in an engaged list. People buy from people they know, like and trust.
So the heart of focus area #3 is to create a follow up sequence that engages and builds trust.
Is there a magic formula? Well it depends on how you build the list. Some just goes easier than others. We all are on lists like that - good and poor.
Here are some basic steps. - Introduce yourself and set expectations
- Share your own back stories - good and bad
- Share your own discovery stories - what you see in a product you like
- Highlight the benefits of the products you like - how they might make a difference
- Share customer success stories
- Deal with objections
- Give the product a push with scarcity or a tasty bonus
Now that is a lot to take in and apply. BUT it does not stop there - keep building and keep engaged.
