Song Studio is an opportunity for our community to come together through singing and provide a supportive environment to practice performing. After a period of group singing and warm-up, this class focuses on individual performances from students.

In this class, you will develop:

Vocal Technique
Musical Style
Performance Skills

SUMMER WORKSHOPS

Today is your LAST CHANCE to get Early Bird pricing!!

Teens ages 14-19 can take advantage of this rare opportunity to c_raft a narrative around their own "one of a kind" life stories and experiences and pair them with appropriate music choices for a "cabaret style" performance. Working in a small group with Resound NW educator and performer Courtney Freed and a pianist, participants will develop a particularly dynamic solo performance piece in a professional, supportive, and fun environment.

You will:

- Discover a wealth of material for your project

- Receive constructive and healthy feedback about your ideas, delivery, and performance

- Practice your stage presence

- Build vocal stamina

- Express your creativity

- Ease performance anxiety

No prior singing experience necessary.

The 4 day class will culminate in a final showcase during the end of the last session where students will have an opportunity to share their progress with friends and family!

TWO summer sessions are available:

June 25 - 28 from 9:30a - 2pm

July 23 - 26 from 9:30a - 2pm

CONCERTS

“All that matters now is where I go from here…”

You’re invited to a warm and loving celebration of Leah Yorkston’s next chapter. Sparked by a student’s query, who wondered when the next opportunity would be to see Leah perform, this concert is a heartfelt thank you to the community who have nurtured and supported Leah over the last 40 years. Rather than looking back, we’ll be looking forward, with songs and music that have (and continue to) carry Leah through the crucibles of life, planting seeds for greater joy, love, and connection in her years to come. Accompanied by long-time friend Stephanie Smith, come for the spectacular concert and stay for the laughter, memories, and communal joy. And hey, if the spirit moves us, maybe there’ll even be an aria or two. ;)

I'll be back at the beautiful Domaine Serene Lake Oswego Wine Lounge with guitarist Hamody Hindi. We'll deliver smooth vintage jazz interpretations of great American classics including Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, and the Beatles, as well as catchy originals and energetic covers. You'll love the delicious food and drinks at DSLO. 6-8pm. Free!

Come on down to Union Station and check out the magical jazz vibes at Wilf's with my sweet trio! I'll be joined by Hamody Hindi on guitar and John Moak on trombone. We'll be playing jazzy originals, standards, re-vamped 80s tunes and more! You'll be sure to hear several songs from my album, "Big Crazy Love" and lots of surprises. Tix are $11 and seating is limited, so be sure to call for a reservation. Minimum purchase of $20 per person. You're in for a classy night of music and food at this iconic Portland spot!

We'll provide spicy latin and playful swing jazz interpretations of Great American Songbook classics including composers Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington and more, as well as catchy originals and energetic 80s and 90s covers. Delightful rhythms, lush vocal stylings, and lots of levity provide a delectable feast for the ears. You *might* want some champagne, and you certainly won't regret a fabulous afternoon out with this festive duo, "Champagne and Regret."
