| | Congratulations, Sophie!
Transition is afoot at Resound NW. Our piano teacher Sophie Lippert is moving on to other projects in 2019, and we are sad to say this means an end to her tenure as a Staff Instructor at Resound NW. Sophie has bought a new house, and beginning this month, she will be transitioning to teaching piano out of her home studio and working independently. While we are sad to see her go, we are delighted for this new chapter of her life and career.
Sophie, thank you for sharing your enthusiasm, dedication and talent with us for the past year at Resound NW! You will be missed as part of our staff, and we hope to collaborate with you again in the near future. Congratulations!

| | Announcing Our New Grand Piano!
We are excited to announce a new member of the Resound NW family - a grand piano! We have recently purchased a lovely Baldwin grand piano for use in our studio. It's truly a wonderful piano, and we can't wait for you to play it for your piano lessons, sing with it in your voice lessons, and utilize it in our classes, workshops, and concerts.

| | 6 Week Solo Performance Class with Courtney Freed and Darcy White
Calling all Portland performers! The world needs your unique voice and story! Are you a Portland musical theater performer (or an actor who sings) looking to build your solo performance skills, workshop an idea for a "cabaret" piece or simply seeking an opportunity to work on new material outside of your usual repertoire? Join local cabaret dynamos Courtney Freed and Darcy White as they embark on a six week journey to help you develop your specific and unique voice in a professional, supportive and fun environment. During these 3 hour sessions you will:
+ Workshop material you have ALWAYS wanted to visit, but never have had the opportunity or resources to.
+ Learn the "ins and outs" of marketing your own project(s) to appeal to a variety of audiences.
+ Receive constructive and healthy feedback about your material, delivery and your specific performance strengths and opportunities.
+ Develop your ideas into a short, "mini cabaret" to be showcased at the end of the class series for an audience of supportive friends and family.
Class will meet for 6 Mondays, beginning February 4th, 2019 from 7-10pm, culminating in an invited showcase on March 11, 2019.

| We offer rentals for single events and ongoing uses with daytime, evening, and weekend availability at reasonable rates. Building amenities include: kitchenette, bathroom, waiting rooms, water coolers, tea, and free street parking.

| | Upcoming Song Studio Classes
"Song Studio" is a performance class where Resound NW students perform a song they have prepared and receive valuable coaching on their performance. The class includes a mini-lesson for each student plus a professional pianist to accompany them.
This class is fun, low-key, and an exciting way to learn about the craft of singing!
