Subject: Concerts, Classes & Workshops!

Just a few spots left for Song Studio and Performance Practices.

Hello friends!

We are just one week out from our PRIDE! concert, and the excitement is palpable in the studios! If you haven't RSVPed to our Facebook event, please do so by following the link below.

Beyond the concert on June 15th, there are still a number of exciting happenings. Our June Song Studios are nearly full, so make sure you're signed up if you were hoping to join! Plus, there's still time for teens to register for our Sing Your Story summer workshop, and 3 spots remain for Performance Practices.

See you all quite soon!

Warmly,

Daniel Buchanan

CONCERTS

Celebrate Pride month with us! We've got an incredible line up of singers from our studio, singing a vibrant collection of songs written by LGBTQIA+ artists.

This is a relaxed, joyful Studio Gathering. Our Studio Gatherings are an opportunity for our students to perform for each other, to share what they are learning in their music lessons, and for friends and family to support their loved ones. Audiences will be invited to join in on the sing-a-long songs!

Come, bring a camp chair and an offering for our potluck table, or simply bring your self. What better way to celebrate the oncoming of summer and our beautiful, vivacious queer community than by soaking in some tunes sung by our passionate music students??

Saturday June 15th from 2-5pm | Powell Park | Free & open to the public

There are a handful of spots open for some upcoming Performance Practices sessions! These are one-off classes, so if you're looking for the next seven-week session of Performance Practices, that will take place next Fall.

SUMMER WORKSHOPS

Teens ages 14-19 can take advantage of this rare opportunity to craft a narrative around their own "one of a kind" life stories and experiences and pair them with appropriate music choices for a "cabaret style" performance. Working in a small group with Resound NW educator and performer Courtney Freed and a pianist, participants will develop a particularly dynamic solo performance piece in a professional, supportive, and fun environment.

You will:

- Discover a wealth of material for your project

- Receive constructive and healthy feedback about your ideas, delivery, and performance

- Practice your stage presence

- Build vocal stamina

- Express your creativity

- Ease performance anxiety

No prior singing experience necessary.

The 4 day class will culminate in a final showcase during the end of the last session where students will have an opportunity to share their progress with friends and family!

Dates:

July 23 - 26 from 9:30am - 2pm

WHERE: Resound NW (1532 SW Jefferson St, Portland, OR 97201)
