Resound NW Is Moving To A New Home! |
|

| A Message from Daniel Buchanan:
Dear Friends,
I have such exciting news to share with you! There's so much to announce I don't quite know where to begin!
First of all, we are moving to a new long-term home! We are moving this month into a new facility to house our studio events, lessons, classes, and more. This 1,900 square foot building is in the Google Hollow neighborhood, just 3 blocks from our current location. This new space has SO much to offer:
*A big beautiful room with a grand piano for classes, lessons, and more (see pictures below) *2 smaller studios for private lessons *A kitchen and waiting area *Free street parking in the surrounding blocks *A great, central downtown location
The transition to this new long-term home is such a gift to us and our community, made possible in part by Sophie Lippert and Vibrant Studios, who occupied the building previously.
I cannot WAIT for you all to experience this new facility!
The details: *Lessons and classes from now through Monday, February 19 will be at our current location (1512 SW 18th Ave. Portland, OR 97201) *All lessons and classes will be in the NEW studio starting Tuesday, February 20.
We are so grateful for the time we have spent in our temporary location in Goose Hollow. Thank you, everyone, for the beautiful music you made in the big Victorian house over the past 5 months! |

| But wait...there's more! We are welcoming 2 new teachers to our staff!
As if the new location wasn't exciting enough, there's more news to announce! We are welcoming a new piano teacher and a new voice teacher to the Resound NW staff. Check it out!

| Sophie Lippert is a pianist, piano teacher, and musical coach. With many years of experience performing and teaching, she has a degree in piano performance from Rice University and has played in some pretty amazing places, including soloing with the Seattle Symphony. She teaches piano lessons to kids and adults and brings a varied approach that includes training in Waldorf education and much more. (You might also know Sophie because she was a member of our SoulSinging class.)

| Courtney Freed is a singer, actor, voice teacher, and creativity coach. Courtney has her degree in musical theater from Loyola Marymount and has performed a bunch in NY, LA, Chicago and Portland. Courtney has a varied background but is a specialist in musical and jazz styles. In addition to private voice lessons, she teaches a class for cabaret performers, hosts regular open mic events, and can be seen performing frequently in Portland. Courtney's about to perform a tribute show to Freddie Mercury (of Queen).

Resound NW Concert and Grand Opening Party
Sunday, March 18, 5:00-8:00pm at the new Resound NW studio
Come join us for music, food, drink, and community! Celebrate our new home! Make music together and listen to some fabulous performances from our students, teachers, and SoulSinging classes.
This is event is free, open to the public, and will be a potluck dinner.
Private students, we'd love to have you perform at this event! If you are interested, speak with our private instructor for more information. |

Upcoming Song Studio Classes
"Song Studio" is a performance class where Resound NW students perform a song they have prepared and receive valuable coaching on their performance. The class includes a mini-lesson for each student plus a professional pianist to accompany him or her.
This class is fun, low-key, and an exciting way to learn about the craft of singing!
