What's New at the Research Alliance?
Here’s a quick look at what's been keeping us busy:

Hiring Colleagues: We are accepting applications for three full-time positions. If you are interested in conducting rigorous, applied research focused on the nation's largest school district, we encourage you to apply! Openings are for a Junior Research Analyst (Technical); a Research Associate; and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Qualitative Methods).

Expanding our Work in STEM: The Research Alliance recently started evaluating two new STEM-related programs. We'll be studying Design2Learn, an after-school science education program for middle school students. And, we were recently selected as the evaluators for NYC's Computer Science for All Initiative.

Reporting New Findings: Focus on Mentee-Mentor Relationships, the latest report from our ongoing evaluation of the iMentor College Ready program, examines how the initiative was implemented for 10th graders in the eight schools participating in our study. Also, we worked with NYU's Michael Kieffer and the Regional Education Laboratory for the Northeast and Islands to share findings from a new paper, Patterns of English Learner Student Reclassification in NYC Public Schools.
The Research Alliance for New York City Schools is a nonpartisan research center housed at the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. The Research Alliance conducts rigorous studies on topics that matter to the city’s public schools. The organization strives to advance equity and excellence in education by providing evidence about policies and practices that promote students' development and academic success.
