Subject: Thanks for a Great Year

Happy Holidays!
Reflections on 2013
2013 has been a busy and productive year for the Research Alliance. We are grateful to the partners who made our work possible, particularly the teachers and students who took time to share their perspectives in many of our studies.

Highlights from our year include:

Publishing a range of reports and briefs that have informed the work of policymakers and educators:
Kicking off a new study of NYC’s Gifted & Talented Programs and a new partnership with CUNY and the NYC DOE to examine college readiness, enrollment and success.

Welcoming Dr. Rudolph Crew to our Steering Committee, and new staff members Dr. Lisa Merrill (Research Associate); Camille Lafayette (Junior Research Analyst); Jasmine Soltani (Junior Research Analyst); and Shifra Goldenberg (Communications Assistant).

Keep an eye out for more in 2014, including the first annual report from our evaluation of the Expanded Success Initiative and a look at what has made some of NYC’s small high schools successful.

Many thanks for your ongoing interest and support of our work, and wishing you a warm and wonderful holiday season.
