New Spotlight: Have Links Between Neighborhood Poverty and Education Outcomes Changed Over Time? |

The post features maps that show high-poverty census tracts, as well as chronic absentee rates and high school graduation rates by census tract, in 2007 and again in 2018. We find trends consistent with previous posts, including overall improvements and persistent disparities associated with students’ race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and neighborhood.

Research Alliance to Participate with #DegreesNYC in Philanthropy New York's “Equity, Access and Degree Completion” Event The Research Alliance’s Executive Director James Kemple and Research Associate Lisa Merrill will participate in Philanthropy New York’s “Equity, Access and Degree Completion: The Promise of Collective Impact in NYC” on November 19. Panelists will engage in a discussion focused on the gaps in college degree attainment associated with race and ethnicity, and the potential for collective impact efforts to improve these outcomes.
